Industrial Engineer - Operations & Efficiency Specialist

Our client requires a skilled Industrial Engineer with a specialization in Operations and Efficiency to join their team on a contract basis. This role is primarily remote, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere in South Africa, with a focus on improving operational performance within the industrial sector of Nelspruit and surrounding areas. You will be tasked with analyzing current operational workflows, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains, cost reduction, and implementing best practices in production and logistics.

• Analyze existing operational processes, including production, warehousing, and logistics, to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve throughput.
• Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles and other process improvement methodologies to drive operational excellence.
• Conduct data analysis to support decision-making and measure the impact of implemented changes.
• Create process flow diagrams, value stream maps, and other visual tools to document and improve operations.
• Collaborate with operational teams and management to implement proposed changes and ensure buy-in.
• Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor operational performance.
• Prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings, recommendations, and project outcomes.
• Research and recommend new technologies or methodologies that can enhance operational efficiency.
• Manage assigned projects related to operational improvement from initiation to completion.

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a strong focus on operations improvement and efficiency enhancement.
• Demonstrated experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other relevant process improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with remote teams.
• Experience in project management is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and deliver results in a remote setting.
• Familiarity with supply chain and logistics operations is a plus.
• Must be legally authorized to work in South Africa.
