This Senior Manager post runs day-to-day operations in the System Coordination Centre at NHS Central East ICB. Fit depends on a degree or ten years in health and care systems, plus B7-level experience.
- Maintain real-time oversight of system capacity, demand, flow and performance, identifying risks and where coordinated support is needed
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the System Coordination Centre
- Lead operational calls and conversations, agree actions with partners and follow them through to delivery
- Lead responses to system pressure, including surge and escalation, so risks reach senior decision-makers promptly
- Work with hospital, ambulance, community, mental health and wider partners to remove barriers to safe patient flow
- Monitor key operational metrics, identify trends and risks, and recommend action to maintain resilience
- Produce accurate situation reports and briefings for senior leaders and NHS England
- Contribute to winter and surge planning, using trends and forecasting to intervene earlier
- Drive continuous improvement in SCC processes, digital tools and data analytics, with a focus on forecasting and preventative risk identification
- Act as the primary point of contact for operational coordination across the IC
- Provide supportive leadership to colleagues and share learning across the system
- Degree or equivalent qualification, or ten years' experience within health and care systems
- Extensive experience at B7 or equivalent
- Experience in public sector and/or cross-sector environments
- Very effective written and verbal communication skills
- Spotting trends and patterns in data and raising concerns that lead to action
- Handling multiple demands, prioritising well and completing actions promptly
- Teamwork under pressure, shown through a specific example, including clear communication and support for colleagues
- Qualifications in operations, control and command, EPRR, UEC or related disciplines
- Operational experience at B7 or equivalent in a UEC health services role
- Experience of working with acute NHS and non-NHS partners
- Ability to influence without hierarchy
- Computer literacy with an understanding of UEC data flows
- Communicating cheerfully and politely under pressure
- Example of bringing teams from different organisations together to resolve an operational challenge
