Company Description

Mercury Associates, Inc. is a specialized fleet management consulting firm that combines practical fleet operations experience with rigorous business process evaluation and analytics. Since 2002, the firm has supported more than 650 fleet organizations worldwide, giving team members exposure to diverse industries and client environments. Mercury provides services such as cost feasibility studies, fleet replacement analysis, fleet electrification studies, chargeback rate development, and fleet rightsizing assessments.

The company also leads facility programming and planning, operational assessments, zero-emission vehicle transition planning, compliance reviews, and tailored consulting solutions. Team members join a growing organization focused on innovation, data-driven decision‑making, and long‑term client partnerships in the fleet industry.

Role Description

The Junior Consultant role is a full-time remote position that supports client projects across Mercury’s fleet management consulting services. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include collecting and analyzing fleet data, assisting with cost feasibility and replacement analyses, and helping develop recommendations for fleet electrification, rightsizing, and operational improvements. The Junior Consultant collaborates with senior consultants to prepare project deliverables such as reports, presentations, and data visualizations, and may participate in virtual client meetings to gather requirements and present findings.

The role also involves conducting industry and regulatory research, supporting development of methodologies and tools, and contributing to internal documentation and knowledge sharing. This position is suited for individuals who enjoy analytical work, structured problem‑solving, and clear communication in a remote, team‑oriented environment.

Qualifications
  • Analytical and quantitative skills, including data analysis, basic statistics, and proficiency with spreadsheets or analytics tools.
  • Research and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and develop clear, actionable insights.
  • Written and verbal communication abilities, including creating reports, presentations, and client‑ready documentation.
  • Project support skills, such as organization, time management, task tracking, and collaboration in a remote setting.
  • Interest or coursework in fields such as business, economics, public administration, engineering, transportation, or related disciplines.
  • Comfort working with technology and data systems; experience with fleet management, transportation, or consulting environments is beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently with guidance, demonstrate professional accountability, and adapt to evolving client needs.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) preferred; willingness to learn fleet management concepts, sustainability practices, and regulatory frameworks is expected.
