About the TeamAs a Children’s Social Worker you will safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people. You will work closely with families, carers and other professionals to assess needs, develop care plans and provide ongoing support. The team includes a Team Manager, a Senior Practitioner and six Social Workers.
The East team is based at One Avenue in Aston, with an additional office in Stirchley for meetings and flexible working. Both offices offer free parking.
Role DetailsThis hybrid role is based in Birmingham. You must reside within a suitable commutable distance and hold the required right‑to‑work documents. Sponsorship is not offered.
The Children with Disabilities Service is a through‑service; we complete the child’s assessment upon receipt of referral and remain with the child for whichever plan is required. We work in partnership with police, health services, schools and voluntary organisations.
Responsibilities- Safeguard children and young people and promote their welfare.
- Assess the needs of families and children.
- Develop and review care plans.
- Provide ongoing support to children and families.
- Work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Degree in Social Work and completion of ASYE.
- Registration with Social Work England (SWE).
- Experience working with children and families in a social work setting.
- Strong assessment and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Monthly group supervision and separate individual supervision.
