General ResponsibilitiesPerform field testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel. Coordinate with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractor representatives. Transport material samples to the laboratory, prepare and submit data, maintain equipment and vehicles, assist with scheduling technicians, and adhere to strict safety standards.
EssentialRoles and Responsibilities
- Perform testing, observation, and inspection as directed according to training and procedures.
- Document findings and results clearly.
- Verify data accuracy before submitting to the Project Manager.
- Communicate information to the Project Manager and other personnel as directed.
- Assist higher‑level technicians on complex tasks.
- Maintain assigned equipment and its calibration.
- Drive a vehicle such as a Ford F‑150 or equivalent.
- Follow safety rules and conduct pre‑task planning. Report safety concerns to management.
- Maintain quality standards on all projects.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience or equivalent training and experience.
- Proficient with a laptop and Microsoft Word & Excel.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history.
- ACI certification in one or more of the following areas:
- Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I
- Concrete Strength Testing Technician
- Certified in radiation safety and Nuclear Density Gauge operation
- Successful completion of related internal safety certifications
- NICET Level II certification in Construction Materials Testing (Asphalt, Concrete, Soils)
- NICET Level II certification in Geotechnical (Construction, Laboratory, Exploration, Generalist)
- ICC certification in Reinforced Concrete, Spray‑applied Fireproofing, Structural Masonry, Prestressed/Post‑Tensioned Concrete, Structural Steel – Bolting, Structural Steel – Welding
- AWS Certified Associate Welding Inspector (CAWI)
- ASNT Level II certification in Visual Testing (VT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Dye Penetrant Testing (PT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
- Other related national, regional, state, or local certifications considered upon review.
Remote‑Only:
Employees do not have a designated office workspace and typically work from home or another location.
Salary Range: $19.00–$29.25 per hour, adjusted by location, qualifications, and experience.
