Job Overview

Purpose:

The Construction Manager is responsible for the execution, overall administrative and technical direction for a construction project, implementation of Safety and Quality policies, development of craft work packaging, coordination and execution of all subcontracts for construction of a facility.

Additional Compensation:
Per Diem will be included in pay and determined on a project by project basis. Trips home and a company truck will be provided when applicable.

Pay rates:
Salary rate will not increase due to additional hours worked. Pay rate is determined for a project and remains at that rate regardless of hours worked. Assignment to Home Office work will have a different pay rate than field assignments. Payable Bonus options can be achieved based on exceeding profit margins for projects.

Work Schedule:

Varies by location. Must have open availability any time, any day of the week.

• Assist with implementation/interpretation of safety programs.
• Oversee total construction effort to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
• Provide direction to planning constructability, building work packages and scheduling efforts.
• Plan, coordinate and/or supervise construction activities of all superintendents on assigned projects.
• Interact with customer.
• Provide leadership to site team and efficiently coordinate any subcontractors on the same site.
• Authorize/approve project personnel transactions including hiring, transfers, training, wages etc. through effective management of project superintendents.
• Interface with Project Manager, Engineering staff, Subcontractors, client representatives (including 3rd party inspections) to ensure all company, client, and project policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
• Follow oral and written directions and perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Construction.

Site Manager

Entry, Mid, Senior

• Ten (10) years of formal training and experience in heavy industrial projects such as refineries, petro-chemical complexes, power plants, etc.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage employees, budgets, and construction schedules.
• Knowledge of current construction technology such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF modification programs such as Bluebeam or Adobe.
• Effective interaction with employees, clients, and subcontractors.
• Familiarity with construction methods, techniques, and labor requirements applicable to industrial construction projects.
• Previous hands‑on Project Superintendent experience.
• Ability to work with others to develop a team atmosphere and achieve job goals.

• Stand or walk for long periods of time.
• Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects.
• Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance.
• Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects while carrying tools and equipment.
• Stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
• See well (naturally or with correction).
• Eye‑hand coordination.
• Good physical fitness.
• Good sense of balance.
• Work at great heights.

Works out of a field office at the construction site or occasionally from the main office, monitors all phases of construction execution, may travel when not assigned to a construction site, usually entails temporary residence away from primary residence. Expected to deal with delays, the effects of bad weather, or emergencies at the site. Although the work is not considered inherently dangerous, safety precautions must be observed onsite.
