Position: Structural Engineer Inspector (Raleigh, NC)

Structural Engineer Inspector (Raleigh, NC) at Trinity Engineering, PLLC

The role involves performing field inspections and constructing structural analyses for residential and commercial properties, alongside providing retrofit designs and detailed construction guidance. You will collaborate with contractors on‑site, walk through design scope and construction steps with property owners, and mentor junior engineers on complex or large loss inspections and structural damage investigations.

Location & Working Environment

This is a remote position based in Raleigh, NC. You will be equipped with a pickup truck, elevators, ladders, and all necessary tools and safety equipment, including training for working at heights.

Responsibilities
  • Perform field inspections for commercial, residential, and municipal buildings (interior and exterior).
  • Construct structural analyses and provide retrofit designs and details.
  • Meet with contractors and property owners to discuss design scope, options, and construction steps.
  • Assist junior engineers in complex loss inspections and structural damage investigations; mentor them on assessment and report creation.
  • Assist with field inspections that involve climbing steep and high roofs.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • PE license from your resident state, or eligible to obtain a license within one month of hire.
  • Physical fitness to lift, carry, and climb ladders up to 36‑ft and work on sloped roofing surfaces.
  • Excellent computer skills; drafting experience is desired.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Comfortable with heights; trained in required safety equipment and protocols.
