About the role
Balfour Beatty is seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager to join our Regional Buildings division, based from either our Warrington or Birmingham office. This key role supports our Post Construction Portfolio, delivering assurance and solutions across a diverse range of projects throughout the UK.
What you'll be doingResponsibilities include:
- Responsible for the design management delivery and co‑ordination required to process legacy issues on completed projects, integrated with the approach agreed within the Post Construction Leadership Team.
- Based on triage, agree with the Post Construction Technical Lead the approach to technical issues and procure, liaise, review, report, and manage service delivery to meet the brief.
- Perform design management and internal technical assurance processes for both internal and external resources.
- Liaise and coordinate with Operational, Commercial and Legal Counsel teams for each project.
- Work on building‑related technical defects and engage internal and external experts.
- Provide feedback of lessons learned to the technical function during new build projects’ work‑winning and delivery phases.
- Conform to legal matters associated with Post Construction work.
- Stay conversant with historic, current and changing regulations including the Building Safety Act.
Qualifications and experience:
- Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent in Construction related subject.
- Preferably professionally qualified or working towards a professional qualification.
- Preferred previous Post Construction Design Management experience.
- Smart working, flexibility such as staggered start and finish times, with up to 40% remote working where roles allow.
- 25 days paid annual leave on a pro‑rata basis.
