Job Description
We’re looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Thames Water Framework team based in Maple Lodge STW.
Location:
Maple Lodge STW – remote working available, with travel to the office/site required at least 3 days a week.
Hours:
45 hours per week – some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us. We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role. Join us as a Quantity Surveyor and become part of our collaborative Thames Water team working on the exciting £200m+ Maple Lodge STW upgrade. This is a wonderful opportunity to develop your skills on a major water infrastructure project whilst contributing to meaningful work that benefits local communities.
You’ll be supporting our commercial team in a role that values both your expertise and potential, with clear pathways for progression towards Senior QS level.
- Supporting cost control and financial reporting, including preparing cost reports, measuring works, and assisting with monthly valuations
- Managing subcontract activities from enquiry through to payment, maintaining accurate records and supporting tender analysis
- Assisting with change management by identifying, recording and valuing variations with supporting documentation
- Contributing to commercial reporting and maintaining clear, organised records in line with governance requirements
- Collaborating with engineering, operations and planning teams to ensure accurate information gathering and successful package delivery
We are looking for candidates who:
- You have experience as an Assistant QS or QS on civil engineering, utilities, construction or infrastructure projects
- You possess strong numerical skills with excellent attention to detail and good organisational abilities
- You have some experience of subcontract procurement, valuations and cost reporting
- You have a good understanding of construction contract principles and are proficient in MS Excel and commercial tools
- You have strong communication skills and enjoy working collaboratively with diverse teams
