About the role
We're looking for an experienced Construction Manager to join our growing Power team based in Dartford, delivering critical infrastructure projects across the UK's electricity network.
This is an opportunity to play a key leadership role on major power projects, managing site operations, leading multidisciplinary teams and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
What you'll be doingAs Construction Manager, you'll take ownership of construction activities from mobilisation through to handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget. You'll lead site teams, manage subcontractors, coordinate stakeholders and drive operational excellence across every stage of delivery.
Working closely with Project Managers, engineers, commercial teams and clients, you'll be responsible for maintaining high standards of safety, productivity and quality while fostering a positive, high-performing site culture.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage construction delivery across power infrastructure projects.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, sustainably and in line with programme requirements.
- Manage site teams including Site Managers, Engineers, Supervisors and specialist functions.
- Drive a strong health, safety and environmental culture with a relentless focus on Zero Harm.
- Review and approve RAMS, permits and safety documentation.
- Manage subcontractor performance, productivity and compliance.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and implement mitigation measures.
- Lead construction planning, resource allocation and short interval control processes.
- Work closely with commercial teams to manage budgets, change control and cost recovery opportunities.
- Ensure quality standards, audits and assurance activities are completed effectively.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and supply chain partners.
- Support, mentor and develop team members to create high-performing project teams.
- Proven experience delivering construction projects within the power, utilities, energy, civil engineering or infrastructure sectors.
- Demonstrable track record of safely delivering projects to programme and budget.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams.
- Sound understanding of construction methodologies, project controls and commercial awareness.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure project environment.
- Solution-focused approach with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Good understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation.
- CSCS Card
- SMSTS (or equivalent)
- Full UK Driving Licence
