Senior Quantity Surveyor

Salary:
Up to £78,6000 including car allowance, annual bonus, generous pension contribution, private medical and life assurance.

Hours:

Monday to Friday 40 hours per week.

Home based with travel to Southampton.

• Working on energy performance upgrade projects
• Taking responsibility for the commercial control of a number of contracts, bids and processes
• Identifying risks, liabilities and commitments in contractual agreements and ensuring the business fully appreciates any potential impact
• Ensuring that at all times the commercial interests of the delivery team are protected
• Leading, mentoring and managing staff within the team
• Estimating and implementing effective cost control mechanisms
• Sub‑contract management – enquiry, subcontract drafting, measurement, valuation agreement & payment
• Leading project procurement
• Providing timely and high‑quality management reports to the Project Manager and senior leadership team when requested
• Commercial support to other business departments
• Day‑to‑day commercial and subcontract administration issues

• Proven track record in supporting stakeholder management and problem solving
• Relevant HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent professional qualification
• Thorough knowledge of contract forms including NEC, JCT, IChemE
• Experience working for a main contractor within the industrial, water and/or energy sectors
• Previous knowledge and experience of operations and maintenance contracting beneficial
• Multi‑discipline experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry advantageous
