Large general contractor seeking an experienced Superintendent for a significant industrial project (over $200m) in Northern BC. The ideal candidate will have strong local experience in civil, infrastructure, and building projects and will be required to work onsite in North-West BC. Work hours involve a rotation basis of 14/7. Salary range: $160,000 - $220,000. Outpost Recruitment is pleased to assist with this full-time, permanent role.
GeneralAccountability:
The Superintendent should possess a strong working knowledge of civil infrastructure projects.
Nature and Scope:- Manage manpower, materials, and equipment according to the project plan and schedule, coordinating field construction staff and liaising between departments to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications, and maintaining the construction schedule.
- Coordinate with field engineers to oversee work performance and productivity of subcontractors, ensuring all plans, budgets, and safety regulations are followed.
- Provide detailed direction on construction specifications, budgets, and schedules, supervising and coordinating trade superintendents on larger projects.
- Prioritize safety in all activities, ensuring the safety of all workers on site.
- Ensure appropriate development and training for all staff.
- Responsible for the overall success of the construction effort, achieving results efficiently within scheduled time frames, and providing timely, accurate reports to project management.
- Actions and decisions will directly impact project outcomes.
- Organize and lead construction activities through team leads and trade supervisors, providing advice on construction processes.
- Maintain ongoing communication with peers, internal contacts, subordinates, senior managers, and external clients, often working from a site office and handling tight deadlines and irregular hours.
- Minimum of 5 years of directly related experience and 1 to 3 years of supervisory/managerial experience in an industrial setting.
- Compensation ranges from $160,000 to $200,000 depending on relevant experience.
