This Is What Your Role Looks LikeAs an Architectural Engineer (Preparation and Development), you’ll help define how every future Basic-Fit club is designed and built. You’ll work on new concepts, club layouts, technical standards and construction methods while collaborating with colleagues across all Basic-Fit markets in Europe. This is an opportunity to combine architecture, engineering and innovation in an international environment where your ideas will have a direct impact on hundreds of projects.
YourResponsibilities Design & Technical Development
- Design and develop efficient club layouts that maximize both operational performance and member experience.
- Translate design concepts into practical and technically feasible construction solutions.
- Review architectural and technical drawings for accuracy, feasibility and compliance with Basic-Fit standards.
- Support feasibility studies for new club locations and redevelopment projects.
- Advise on construction methods, building materials, finishes, acoustics and technical building systems.
- Contribute to the development of new club concepts and future design standards.
- Continuously improve and standardize construction details across all Basic-Fit markets in Europe.
- Work closely with BIM Engineers to further develop our BIM standards and digital construction processes.
- Help optimize construction methods to improve efficiency, quality and cost control.
- Research and introduce innovative materials, products and construction techniques.
- Support sustainability initiatives by identifying smarter and more sustainable building solutions.
- Share technical knowledge and best practices across international teams.
- Coordinate the technical preparation of multiple international construction projects simultaneously.
- Support permit applications together with local partners.
- Ensure construction documentation is complete before projects move into execution.
- Identify technical risks early and develop practical solutions before construction starts.
- Collaborate closely with Procurement, Construction Project Managers and external engineering partners.
- Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle whenever required.
- Successfully prepare multiple projects for execution across different European markets.
- Improve existing construction standards and technical details.
- Become a trusted technical advisor within the International Construction Department.
- Contribute to the further development of BIM and digital construction.
- Help shape future Basic‑Fit club concepts through innovation and continuous improvement.

You combine engineering knowledge with practical thinking and enjoy collaborating with colleagues from different disciplines and countries. You are comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in an environment where every day brings new challenges.
Qualifications & Skills- A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
- Approximately 3–5 years of relevant experience within architecture, engineering or commercial construction.
- Experience with technical design, construction detailing and project preparation.
- Knowledge of building regulations and permitting processes.
- Experience with BIM, Revit, AutoCAD or comparable design software is considered an advantage.
- Strong communication skills in English (Dutch or another European language is a plus).
- A proactive mindset with excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Willingness to travel occasionally across all Basic-Fit markets in Europe.
