Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

We’re looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join the A417 Missing Link Road major project team based in Gloucester. This role is part of the exciting highways project and will deliver exceptional commercial outcomes.

Location:

A417 Missing Link at Air Balloon, Gloucestershire. Travel to the office is required, with some remote working available.

Hours:

45 hours per week, with flexibility when requested.

Salary: £40,000 – £55,000 per year, plus an annual car allowance of £5,000 and excellent benefits. We cannot offer sponsorship certificates for this role.

• Prepare valuations, claims and budget monitoring reports to track contract performance.
• Work with operational counterparts to prepare and issue contractual notices to subcontractors.
• Manage change control with subcontractors in accordance with NEC4 procedures.
• Support the assessment and mitigation of commercial and contractual risks.
• Maximise cash flow through effective measurement, valuation and invoicing processes.
• Build strong relationships with subcontractors and ensure timely payments.

• Relevant qualifications – a degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying is desirable.
• Experience in a similar role within the construction or highways sector.
• Confidence using IT systems, especially MS Excel.
• Strong communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of teams.
• Well‑organised, adaptable and able to manage time and priorities effectively.
