About the Company
We are an established subcontractor in Singapore, specialising in Reinforced Concrete (RC) works. We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team and manage the commercial and contractual aspects of our projects.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day quantity surveying and commercial matters of our RC projects, including measurement, progress claims, variations, subcontractor accounts and final accounts.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare quantity take-offs, measurements and cost estimates for RC and structural works.
- Review construction drawings, specifications and contract documents.
- Prepare and submit progress claims to main contractors/clients.
- Prepare, substantiate and negotiate variation claims.
- Evaluate and manage subcontractor quotations and accounts.
- Monitor project costs, quantities and commercial performance.
- Prepare interim claims, variation orders and final accounts.
- Liaise with main contractors, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors on commercial matters.
- Maintain proper records and supporting documentation for claims and variations.
- Identify potential commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project.
- Attend site, project or commercial meetings when required.
- Perform other quantity surveying and commercial duties as assigned by management.
- Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying.
- Experience in the Singapore construction industry is preferred.
- Experience with reinforced concrete, structural or civil works will be highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with progress claims, variations, measurements and final accounts.
- Good knowledge of construction drawings and contract documentation.
- Good communication, negotiation and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Able to work independently, manage deadlines and take ownership of assigned projects.
We offer a flexible work-from-home arrangement. However, the successful candidate is expected to remain contactable and responsive during working hours.
As and when required, the candidate must be prepared and available to attend the office, project sites, client/subcontractor meetings or other external meetings.
The ability to work independently while maintaining good communication with the project and management teams is essential.
Senior CandidatesCandidates with more extensive Quantity Surveying experience, particularly those with strong experience in RC/structural works and commercial management, will be considered for a more senior role with increased responsibilities and remuneration commensurate with experience.
