About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Lead Construction Estimator to spearhead the estimating function for projects within the Kimberley region and beyond, all managed remotely. This senior role requires exceptional analytical abilities, a deep understanding of construction costs, and the capability to lead a team while working autonomously. You will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for a wide range of construction projects, ensuring bids are competitive and profitable, contributing significantly to the company's bidding success from your remote workspace.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the preparation of detailed and accurate cost estimates for all types of construction projects, from conception to tender submission.
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to identify scope of work and required elements for estimation.
- Analyze historical cost data and market trends to ensure estimates are competitive and realistic.
- Develop and manage the estimating team, providing guidance, mentorship, and oversight.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to refine estimates and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Present and defend estimates to senior management and clients as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in construction estimating, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
- Proven expertise in interpreting blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
- Strong proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Build Soft, CostX, Excel) and a solid understanding of construction methods.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage multiple estimating tasks simultaneously in a remote environment.
