Job Description
Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Brentwood (flexibility to work from home a few days a week, with the remaining three days spent in the office/on-site)
Salary: £50,000-£60,000 plus car allowance & great company benefits
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
A well-established civil engineering and infrastructure business are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Brentwood.
The business has a strong and growing portfolio of projects and is looking for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to take responsibility for multiple schemes, drive commercial performance and work closely with clients, project teams and subcontractors.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in civil engineering or infrastructure who is looking for a role with genuine responsibility, a varied project portfolio and long-term career progression.
- Manage all commercial aspects of multiple projects from procurement through to final account.
- Prepare and manage forecasts, cost reports, valuations and commercial information.
- Identify and manage variations, change control and commercial risk to maximise project profitability.
- Oversee subcontract procurement, including tendering, package placement, payments, variations and final accounts.
- Ensure accurate measurement, contractual compliance and maintenance of commercial records.
- Work closely with project, site and client teams to monitor costs, identify opportunities and drive commercial performance.
- Build strong relationships with clients and subcontractors throughout project delivery.
- Provide support and guidance to junior members of the commercial team.
- Experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in civil engineering, infrastructure, highways or utilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and strong knowledge of commercial management, forecasting, change, risk and final accounts.
- Good working knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
- Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organised, commercially driven and able to work autonomously.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
- Full UK driving licence.
- RICS/ICES membership or working towards chartership, with experience in highways, electrical or wider infrastructure projects.
