Senior Design Manager £85,000 £ 100,000 package | Euston, London | All schemes within London Office and project based, with occasional remote working All schemes within London | Public sector projects | Education and DfE frameworks | JCT contracts | £10m £75m Take the lead on a major education project in Euston, managing the design from tender and PCSA through to construction.
The wider workload covers public sector schemes across London valued from £10m to £75m, with responsibility for up to two projects depending on their size and stage. This senior role covers both preconstruction and live delivery. It suits a Senior Design Manager who wants ownership of high-value schemes and the chance to stay involved from tender through to site. Lead and manage the design team and design resources at tender and delivery stages Set the design strategy and manage the process through the RIBA stages Coordinate consultants, specialist designers, supply chain partners and internal teams Chair design reviews and coordination meetings, driving clear actions and deadlines Challenge the brief where needed and identify practical improvements Keep the design aligned with construction requirements, programme and cost plan Develop and manage clear scopes of service for each project stage Maintain design management procedures, compliance and project records What you will need At least eight years design management experience with a Tier 1 main contractor Strong experience across both preconstruction and construction phases Education, leisure and public sector project experience Direct experience of the DfE framework is essential
Experience of other public sector frameworks such as SCF, Pagabo, SCAPE or CCS would be useful
