Project Manager - Construction & Engineering

Our client, a leading engineering and construction firm, is seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to oversee significant construction and engineering projects in the Nelspruit region. This role offers a hybrid work structure, blending essential on-site project oversight with the flexibility of remote work. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of construction projects, from initial planning and design through to execution, handover, and project closeout.

The ideal candidate will possess a robust technical background in construction and engineering, coupled with exceptional project management skills and a proven ability to lead complex projects to successful completion, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards.

• Manage all phases of construction and engineering projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedules, resource allocation, and budgets.
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including engineers, architects, contractors, and site personnel.
• Oversee site operations, ensuring safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory compliance are strictly adhered to.
• Manage client relationships and stakeholder communications, providing regular progress updates.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and issues, implementing effective solutions.
• Procure necessary materials and manage contractor performance.
• Conduct project reviews and post-project analysis for continuous improvement.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in project management within the construction and engineering sector.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and construction management tools.
• Ability to effectively manage projects in a hybrid work environment.
• Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Pr Eng) are highly desirable.
