Estimate civil construction projects remotely with Excel and Bluebeam expertise, supporting roads, earthworks, and underground infrastructure across Northeastern Ontario.
Ed Seguin & Sons seeks an experienced Estimator for assigned roads, underground infrastructure, earthworks, aggregates, trucking, and surface mining projects. This part-time remote opportunity connects you with operations and company leadership. Candidates need heavy civil estimating experience, practical construction knowledge, and independent judgment.
Key Responsibilities:- Review drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, and tender requirements
- Prepare quantity takeoffs and detailed project estimates
- Compare supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Establish construction methods, production rates, and schedules
- Identify risks, assumptions, scope gaps, and pricing opportunities
- Five or more years of heavy civil estimating experience
- Knowledge of road building, earthworks, or underground infrastructure
- Excel and Bluebeam digital takeoff proficiency
- Ability to explain assumptions clearly and meet deadlines
- Relevant technical education or equivalent field experience
