Senior Construction Engineer

Optomi, in partnership with a leading telecommunications organization, is seeking a Senior Construction Engineer to lead the delivery of complex telecommunications network infrastructure projects across multiple locations. This role will oversee project planning, construction execution, vendor performance, and cross-functional coordination to ensure projects are completed within approved scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards. The ideal candidate brings strong Outside Plant (OSP) engineering and construction expertise, proven project leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives from planning through completion.

• Bachelor's degree or at least five years of relevant professional experience.
• Knowledge of Outside Plant (OSP) engineering standards, industry practices, and construction methods.
• Experience with both aerial and underground telecommunications construction.
• Experience managing the full life cycle of OSP or civil construction projects, from planning through execution and handoff.
• Strong project management skills, including managing multiple complex projects, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage relationships with contractors, vendors, and customers.

• Develop, review, and manage comprehensive project plans to support telecommunications network infrastructure deployments.
• Lead cross-functional teams through project planning, construction, execution, and completion.
• Establish vendor expectations and accountabilities while ensuring contractors meet project milestones and quality standards.
• Oversee network architecture, construction methodologies, and material selection to support successful project delivery.
• Manage assigned projects to ensure completion within approved scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
• Establish performance metrics, track project progress, and communicate status to relevant stakeholders.
• Identify potential project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and resolve construction or deployment challenges.
• Coordinate customer handoffs and transitions to operational teams to support successful project completion.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams, external engineering firms, contractors, and vendors to maintain alignment throughout the project life cycle.
• Manage competing priorities and proactively address issues that could affect project timelines, costs, or deliverables.
