Junior Construction Engineer

Our client, a dynamic and growing firm in the construction sector, is seeking an ambitious Junior Construction Engineer to support project execution in Paarl, Western Cape . You will work closely with senior engineers and site managers, assisting in various aspects of project planning, execution, and monitoring.

• Assist senior engineers in the planning and scheduling of construction activities.
• Support the monitoring of construction progress, ensuring adherence to project timelines and specifications.
• Help in preparing project documentation, reports, and technical drawings.
• Conduct site inspections under the supervision of experienced engineers to check work quality and safety compliance.
• Coordinate with site teams and subcontractors to resolve minor technical issues.
• Assist in managing project resources, including materials and equipment, on site.
• Learn and apply engineering principles and best practices in real-world construction scenarios.
• Participate in site safety meetings and contribute to maintaining a safe work environment.
• Support the quantity surveying and cost control aspects of projects as needed.
• Communicate effectively with various project stakeholders, both on-site and remotely.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline.
• Limited or no prior professional experience required; internships or relevant academic projects are a plus.
• Strong understanding of basic engineering principles and construction methodologies.
• Familiarity with construction site operations and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in relevant software, such as MS Office Suite, and eagerness to learn specialized construction software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid setting.
• Strong desire to learn and grow within the construction industry.
• Must be able to work on construction sites as required, and possess a willingness to travel within the Western Cape .
• A proactive attitude and a keen eye for detail.
