About the Job:
Responsibilities- Develop PR strategies and dynamic pitches to meet client objectives and goals
- Proactively go above and beyond traditional pitching efforts to target specific editors, back into pitches, prompt clients for useful information and creatively utilize known data and insights
- Consistently think outside the box on how to level up client activity, suggest interesting media activations to support brand objectives
- Strategic plan and execute outreach plan with little to no changes from leadership team
- Pitch and secure feature stories, brand stories, etc. on national and regional level across online, print, broadcast and podcast media
- Update all client materials and other written materials
- Draft press releases
- Monthly client reporting
- Communicate with clients regularly via email, phone and in person and build strong relationships with clients, helping to manage client expectations
- Communicate daily with high-level editors/media and continue to build new and strong relationships with key editors in business, tech media and more
- Mentor junior staff on a regular basis and work with VP to support their development
- Provide proactive and consistent updates to VP about the health of account, team and overall day-to-day activity
- 6-7 years of PR experience (primarily agency experience)
- A strong editorial network of consumer technology, AI and business editors and writers
- A clear vision of evolving cultural landscape, with a specific interest in health and wellness industries
- Curiosity about emerging trends, eagerness to learn and build new skills and try new things
- Naturally proactive, with outstanding attention to detail and meticulous organizational skills
- A people person, skilled at building and nurturing relationships, with proven experience in supportive team management
- A team player, with ability to work both collaboratively and independently
- Skilled writer and communicator
- Ability to balance many priorities and act resourcefully, while maintaining a positive attitude
