Centennial World’s daily internet culture news video podcast Mini Scroll is looking for a part-time podcast host to join our team one day per week. If you’re a university theatre student or recent grad, love performing, and consider yourself chronically online, this is for you.

Mini Scroll is a daily internet culture news video podcast approximately 15-minutes long. We cover three trending stories on the internet Monday through Friday from a progressive angle and welcome stories from all niches and communities. Our network reaches 200K+ listens every month and Mini Scroll is published across You Tube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Tik Tok, Reels, or anywhere else you listen to podcasts.

Working alongside the Centennial World team at our office in Chippendale, this is an opportunity to gain experience in an end-to-end podcast role while building your own personal brand online.

  • Think:
    Creator drama, social media trends, viral conversations across Tik Tok, You Tube, Reddit, X/Threads, and more.

• Research & write a short episode outline including the key details + your own commentary, with the support of our team

• Record your episode in-studio

• Edit your episode and prepare it for same-day publishing, with the support of our team

• Complete this workflow within an 8-hour business day

• Work with a fast-growing Gen Z media brand in Australia

• Gain hands-on experience in writing, hosting, and editing podcasts

• See your work published to thousands of daily listeners

• Build a your portfolio in podcasting, media presenting, and online culture journalism

• Starting rate of $30/hr

• Credit towards your university course (if applicable)

• Is studying theatre, media, comms, journalism, or a recent grad looking for industry experience

• Has strong research, writing, and critical thinking skills

• Has a strong on-camera presence and is open to sharing opinion on (sometimes controversial) pop culture topics

• Is confident speaking on mic and delivering stories with personality

• Is chronically online across Tik Tok, Reddit, You Tube etc.

• Can work quickly, independently, and meet same-day deadlines

• Is available to work one set day per week for minimum the duration of 2026 (preferably Tuesdays or Thursdays, but you may indicate a preferred day)

Note:

The application process will include two interviews, as well as a screen-test.
