Overview

Herzog Transit Services, Inc. is currently seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Proposal/Technical Writer across the United States to join our team.

The Proposal/Technical Writer works closely with management in the completion of assigned proposals, plans and other original documents for projects of any size and complexity. They will collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team environment to develop compliant and compelling content.

This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position.

• Support the management team to ensure the timely completion of assigned proposals.
• Assist with scheduling and facilitating proposal kickoff meetings, reviews, and strategy sessions; developing and maintaining a compliance matrix with key dates, roles, and responsibilities; and the exchange and organization of documentation, forms, and various content.
• Review and analyze procurement documents to identify and communicate to the management team key information and requirements.
• Research, write, and edit such items as resumes, firm experience, project approach and other proposal sections, forms, and other content.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop and write project plans and contract deliverables.
• Proofread proposal content ensuring compliance with client requirements, readability, grammar and spelling, and win theme message consistency and clarity.
• Assist with the assembly and submission of the assigned proposal in hard and/or electronic copy document format.
• Prepare slide decks and other documents for internal and client presentations.
• Adhere to strict deadlines for multiple, simultaneous projects while coordinating closely with project managers.
• Engage in support activities which can include proposal administration tasks, storyboarding and graphic design, document reviews and editing, proposal strategy, content collection and sharing, and development of internal and external promotional documents, flyers, and presentation slides.
• Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position.
• Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Travel is required – 10% nationwide travel required.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Proven industry experience and/or bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Graphic Design, or Transportation.
• Three to five years of experience working within all aspects of the proposal lifecycle for RFQs/RFPs.
• Strong writing skills, including editing, grammar, style, spelling, punctuation, and proofreading skills.
• Layout and assembly experience with large publications with technical charts, tables, maps, and other diagrams.
• Knowledge of Adobe Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Proven ability to work on multiple tasks or projects at various levels of completion.
• Organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven.
• Time commitments involve working overtime and weekends required to meet project deadlines.
