Salary Grade: 40 – $67,958 to $78,154

WBUR is Boston's NPR and a public media leader. We deliver outstanding journalism across airwaves, digital platforms, on‑demand content, and live events. Our mission is to create high‑quality reporting and enriching experiences that inspire understanding, connection, and a sense of community for an ever‑growing audience. As a member‑supported organization licensed to Boston University, WBUR thrives because of the dedication of our listeners and supporters.

At WBUR, talent and ambition drive everything we do. Our team is committed to excellence and values truth, creativity, diverse perspectives, and thoughtful dialogue. We foster a warm, inclusive culture where everyone feels a sense of belonging. Respect and passion for our mission are at the heart of how we work together. Looking ahead, WBUR is charting bold new directions, continuing to innovate and evolve for the future.

It is a place where you can make a meaningful impact, collaborate with inspiring colleagues, and grow both personally and professionally. WBUR's Morning Edition is looking for an Associate Producer to join our morning news team which greets our audience every morning with up‑to‑the‑minute newscasts, in‑depth reporting and stories, and illuminating conversations with news makers and members of our community that help our audience better understand this region and the world.

The Associate Producer generates ideas and advances stories, conducts desk reporting, and interviews news makers and other news sources in service of our newscasts and WBUR's overall news gathering. The Associate Producer writes stories primarily for broadcast and occasionally for digital platforms. We are looking for candidates who thrive in a fast‑paced environment under tight deadlines in early morning hours with an ambitious, collaborative team.

  • An excitement about WBUR's mission to provide an essential public good: high‑quality local journalism and enriching experiences that foster understanding, connection and community.
  • A commitment to journalism fundamentals, including accuracy, fairness, respect, honesty and independence on air and online.
  • Critical thinking.
  • Creative, editorially nimble, detail‑oriented, dogged in pursuit of the news, and sharply focused on audience sensibilities.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills across multiple platforms.
  • Ability to efficiently prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledgeable about Greater Boston news and issues.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fact‑checking.
  • Proficiency in audio editing.
