The Visual Communication Designer is instrumental in designing, developing, planning, prototyping, and implementing visual strategies, concepts, designs, and ideas to provide solutions that support the Strategic Plan and are specifically targeted to meet the learning needs of the end user. The position is ideal for a user-centered visual communication designer who can leverage their critical thinking and technical skills with their expertise in print, web, and digital platforms to transform learning across a range of visual, interactive, informational, and service-oriented designs.
The Visual Communication Designer will identify standards, integrate products and solutions into appropriate delivery systems, and support quality assurance, maintenance, and revisions. The Visual Communication Designer integrates graphics, animations, videos, images, audio, and interactive elements into comprehensive learning products and, when required works in collaboration with other Island Health production resources, such as Multimedia Services, Communications, and IMIT. The Visual Communication Designer Supports the evolution of technology-based approaches to content authority.
The Visual Communication Designers are required to have familiarity with these build tools and 3 to 5+ years experience:
• Adobe Captivate
• Adobe Suite skills:
• Experience with Cerner Learning Framework and/or Wiki is preferred
• Course material creation
• Training program development
• Learning strategies
• Curriculum design
• Course management
• Implementation support
• Industry best practices
• Technical writing
