The Role

Loom is looking for an experienced and passionate Lead Product Designer to drive forward the Core Product experiences that power Loom’s key journeys. The Core Product team focuses on solving meaningful problems and delivering value to Loom creators and viewers alike.

As Lead Product Designer, you’ll focus specifically on the end-to-end video creation and generation journey from pre-recording to in-recording to post-recording. You’ll design intuitive, cohesive, and seamless workflows that help users easily create, edit, and share Looms, all while bringing AI-first thinking to how we scale and evolve the product.

This role will operate as a high-impact individual contributor, spending time in our Core Product and Next Gen AI teams. You’ll explore and ship bold, innovative ideas that reimagine what Loom can be and help Atlassian stay ahead in a rapidly evolving, AI-driven market.

We're looking for a craft & product experience focused design leader who thrives in ambiguity, cares deeply about user experience, and leads with empathy, clarity, and resilience.

You will be a user champion and a trusted leader to colleagues across the organization. You’ll partner with every team across Product, Design, User Research, and Engineering to help drive the creation and consumption of looms. You will define best practices, design for challenges both big and small, and lay the foundations for our product for years to come.

You’ll report to the Design Manager of Core Product s is a remote role. To help our teams work better together, you must be located between PST and EST.

Responsibilities
  • Elevate design craft
    :
    Set a high bar for interaction, visual, and motion design. Champion design principles and ensure consistency across product surfaces.
  • Drive high fidelity designs with great attention to detail all the way through to delivery.
  • Own the end-to-end creation experience
    :
    Lead design for recording, generation, and editing, making the journey seamless and AI-assisted.
  • Prototype and ship innovation
    :
    Partner with the Next Gen pod to rapidly explore, validate, and graduate breakthrough ideas—especially those leveraging AI for video creation.
  • Lead with user and business impact
    :
    Use research and data to identify friction points, reduce barriers to recording, and increase shareability and engagement.
  • Mentor and inspire
    :
    Grow the design team’s skills, foster a culture of experimentation, and scale learnings across teams.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally
    :
    Work closely with PM, Eng, UXR to deliver delightful, high-impact features.
  • Champion AI-first thinking
    :
    Help Loom stay ahead by integrating emerging AI technologies, building conviction for new approaches, and ensuring Loom’s offering is 10x better than competitors.
Qualifications
  • You believe deeply in the power of video and its ability to transform communication at work.
  • You have a minimum of 8-10+ years of experience in Product Design.
  • You have led product design for complex, user-facing products ideally in video, AI, or productivity tools. You know how to navigate ambiguity and bring clarity to teams.
  • You set and uphold a high bar for craft in interaction, visual, and motion design. You care deeply about the details and inspire others to do the same.
  • You have a track record of shipping innovative, user-centered solutions in fast-paced, cross-functional teams. You thrive on collaboration and know how to turn big ideas into real impact.
