Pay range: $71,000.00 - $. Pay is based on various factors such as labor markets, education, work experience and certifications. As a Designer, you’ll be accountable for leading product design and development for owned brands. You’ll work with merchant and sourcing counterparts to drive brand cohesion and ensure products meet line plans, assortment strategies and price points.
- Diligent workload management and timely communication with internal and external partners
- Lead product research and design
- Industry expertise and trend forecasting to guide category, brand, business or guest segment trends
- Market research to identify trends
- Mentor associate designers and foster collaboration within the team
- Drive your categories, select color stories and develop fabrics, prints, trims and graphics
- Ensure product designs support merchant line plans, assortment strategies, and overall creative direction
- Collaborate with technical designers and sourcing partners to troubleshoot and resolve product issues

About You- Four-year degree in Design, Fine Art, or similar area, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience
- Computer design system skills including Illustrator and Photoshop
- Advanced understanding of textiles, garment construction/fit or raw materials & product production
- Commercial sense, market knowledge, and ability to apply market / trend information
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to respond to business objectives with creative, innovative, and cost-effective design solutions
- Knowledge of product development processes
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. Hybrid/Flex means the core role must be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location and virtually, depending on day-specific requirements.
Team Members in the Target General Merch Inc operating company are prohibited from working more than thirty (30) days per calendar year in the following states: AL, AR, DE, FL, IN, IA, LA, MD, MS, MO, NC, OK, PA, SC, TN & VA. Remote work from these states is also limited.
