Senior 3D FX Artist

About The Role

This role will include creating and managing 3D FX shots whilst working on a wide variety of dynamic simulations. You will be collaborating with the Creative CG Supervisor and 2D FX Lead to develop 3D FX approaches to the production.

We are looking for someone who is creative, good at problem solving and enjoys teamwork. You must demonstrate thorough attention to detail, the ability to think outside the box and be super pro‑active and have an autonomous work ethic alongside the ability to quickly integrate and communicate well within a small team.

• Manage technical 3D FX challenges on Mojo alongside the Creative CG Supervisor and 2D FX Lead
• Support pre‑production at the episode planning level
• Provide support & technical solutions to the Creative CG Supervisor and 2D FX Lead
• Independently create & manage 3D FX shots in Houdini
• Create dynamic simulations like Water, Fire, Smoke, etc
• Give and receive feedback from other Departments
• Work with tight schedules and deadlines
• Flexibility working with multiple software packages
• Follow direction to create abstract effect
• Ability to run or modify the Procedural Asset
• Render Out Previz Shots
• Communicate with other departments
• Participate in the creative process to achieve abstract & stylized FX

• Houdini & Maya experience - generalist Maya knowledge is a bonus
• The ability to create dynamic simulations:
  Water, Fire, Smoke, etc
• Creative with a good artistic eye
• Good understanding of the entire visual effects process
• Familiarity with pipeline issues, especially working between multiple packages
• A working knowledge of Nuke and a solid understanding of the composting process
• Thorough attention to detail. Being able to identify and correct subtle issues
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong problem solving skills and ability to work with tight schedules
