We are looking for a Writer/Director to join our remote digital team. We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about Physics, Maths, or Engineering. And has a great general understanding of science. The ideal person is highly proactive, has great attention to detail, and wants to be the very best at what they do.

You will be responsible for coming up with topics that fit the Veritasium brand. Then researching them, writing the script, and directing the video edit. You’re essentially the leader of your video – and making the best possible video is your main responsibility.

• Make the best possible video!
• Deliver videos in a timely manner and lead your team.
• Research various topics related to Physics, Maths, Engineering, and more, and propose video ideas.
• Source experts in the field to interview or collaborate with, either on-site or virtually.
• Focus on accuracy and engaging storytelling, going extremely deep in research to trace stories back to scientific papers and original sources.
• Stay up to date on new research, scientific discoveries and advancements in the field and incorporate them into video scripts.

• A (minimum of a) bachelor's degree or higher in Physics, Maths, Engineering, or a related field.
• Excellent research, reading comprehension, and fact-checking skills.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality content that meets the standards of the Veritasium You Tube channel.
• Passionate about educating and inspiring others about Physics and science in general.

• Proven experience in long-form or feature science communication, ideally with knowledge of science You Tube content.
