Hours: 0.8 ( 4 day week) 28 hours, flexible on working days

The role:

The event programme producer role will take full responsibility for the delivery of a successful programme at a number of Jisc’s priority events across the year. The programme needs to strike the perfect balance – meeting the needs of the organisation and commercial partners, while ensuring a compelling and inspirational offering that meets and exceeds the expectations of the delegates.

You will work with internal and external stakeholders to lead on the creation of the event programmes, delivering against top line themes and strands established by the steering group for each event.

What you’ll be doing:

The event programme producer will take full responsibility for delivering the programme against Jisc’s priority events including the Security Conference and Jisc’s flagship event, Digifest. Key accountabilities and role outputs include:

  • Work as part of the event steering group and with internal/external stakeholders to develop conference themes
  • Develop and manage the call for paper process (both internally and externally)
  • Evaluate programme proposals (alongside key business stakeholders) and create full event programme
  • Manage all communications around programme submissions.
  • Work with the event internal steering group for programme session and speaker ideas
  • Identify keynote and plenary speakers complimentary to the themes and strands.
  • Work with the Senior Event Managers who hold overall responsibility for the events to ensure the programme integrates seamlessly with all other elements of the event.
  • Work with exhibition and sponsorship manager to ensure that commercial sessions are fully integrated and complimentary to the wider event
  • Work with event managers and other marketing and communications colleagues to ensure the programme is used to its maximum potential as a marketing hook for the event.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience of programme development at similar scale events
  • Good understanding of audience types and experience of matching content to expectations
  • Developing strong relationships quickly and effectively in a complex organisation
  • Effective communicator with members and/or customers of internal and external stakeholder groups

It’s a bonus if you have

  • Experience of programme development for conferences within a relevant part of the education or technology sector
