The ATML Choir CIC is a community-focused group dedicated to combating loneliness and enhancing mental health through the power of music. Our inclusive choir embraces diversity and welcomes individuals of all backgrounds, aiming to create a cohesive community where everyone belongs. Central to our unique identity is our signature style of performing medleys, combining multiple songs into a harmonious expression of unity.
We believe that singing—whether as a professional or an enthusiastic participant—can bring people together and serve as a powerful remedy for isolation. Join us in our mission to foster connection and a sense of belonging through music.
This is a volunteer hybrid position for a Musician based in Manchester, with the opportunity to work from home for certain tasks. The role involves collaborating with choir members to create and perform musical medleys, rehearsing regularly, and contributing to community performances. Responsibilities also include supporting song selection, practicing independently, and participating in activities to foster community spirit. Musicians will play a vital role in supporting the choir's purpose of creating meaningful connections through music.
Qualifications- Musical skills, including proficiency in singing or playing an instrument, with the ability to work within a group setting
- Experience in arranging or composing music, particularly medleys, is an advantage
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Passion for community engagement and a commitment to the choir’s mission of combating loneliness
- Strong organizational and time management skills to attend rehearsals and events consistently
- Enthusiasm for diverse musical genres and styles
- Experience performing in choirs or musical groups is a plus
- Open-mindedness and a positive attitude towards creating an inclusive and supportive environment
