Are you passionate about supporting Scotland’s vibrant literature sector? Creative Scotland is looking for a part-time Literature Officer.

Join the Creative Scotland team and support the delivery of their work in Literature and Publishing as outlined in their Strategic and Annual Plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and provide recommendations on funding applications and specialist literature projects
  • Lead and support a range of projects across literature and publishing programmes
  • Engage and collaborate with cultural organisations and key stakeholders to enhance Creative Scotland’s work in Literature and Publishing
  • Represent Creative Scotland in stakeholder and public forums
  • Develop partnerships locally and internationally to advance Scotland’s literature sector
What They’re Looking For
  • Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of Scotland’s literature and publishing sectors
  • Experience in literature, with a background in working with diverse writers and literature professionals
  • Desirable:
    Knowledge of Gaelic and Scots language in the creative context
  • Strong skills in administration, project management, and resource management
  • Proven ability to assess proposals and produce clear, detailed reports and recommendations
  • Understanding of Scotland’s creative industries, specifically within Literature and Publishing
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external partners
  • Desirable:
    Experience with evaluation and monitoring processes and a commitment to Creative Scotland’s core values
  • The ability to quickly get up to speed, take on responsibilities, and make an immediate contribution in this fixed-term role

Salary: £36,953 pro rata plus pension and benefits

Grade: C

Contract: Fixed-Term (12 months)

Hours: part-time, 21 hours per week over 3 days

Location: Further opportunities to discuss working arrangements, for example hybrid/home working will be offered. The role will be based in Creative Scotland’s Edinburgh office.
