Transform Raw Audio into Polished, Engaging Podcast Episodes
About the Role
Are you a detail-obsessed audio editor who can turn rough recordings into crisp, high-quality podcast episodes? Do you have a passion for storytelling through sound—removing distractions, enhancing clarity, and crafting an immersive listening experience? If so, Podify is looking for an Audio Editor to produce professional-grade podcast episodes for top thought leaders, authors, and industry experts.
As our Audio Editor, you’ll be responsible for cleaning up, enhancing, and mixing podcast episodes to meet broadcast-quality standards. You’ll collaborate with hosts, producers, and the production team to ensure every episode sounds flawless, keeps listeners engaged, and aligns with the client’s brand.
Your mission? Create audio experiences that captivate, inspire, and keep audiences coming back for more.
What You’ll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities)
1. Professional-Quality Audio Editing
Edit, mix, and master podcast episodes for clarity, pacing, and engagement.
Remove filler words, long pauses, background noise, and distractions while maintaining a natural flow.
Enhance voice clarity and consistency using EQ, compression, and other audio processing techniques.
Balance and mix music, sound effects, and dialogue for a polished, immersive listening experience.
2. Sound Design & Enhancements
Add intros, outros, ads, and voiceovers seamlessly into episodes.
Incorporate sound effects and music beds where appropriate to enhance storytelling.
Ensure all episodes adhere to consistent audio branding across a podcast series.
3. Quality Control & File Management
Ensure all final exports meet platform requirements (Apple Podcasts, Spotify, You Tube, etc.).
Maintain organized file management and version tracking for quick revisions and updates.
Listen critically for any errors or inconsistencies before delivering final files.
4. Process Optimization & Workflow Improvements
Identify ways to streamline the editing process without sacrificing quality.
Work with producers to refine episode structures and optimize listener experience.
Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and techniques to continuously improve production quality.
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications & Skills)
Proven Audio Editing Experience
– 2+ years editing
podcasts, radio, or audio content
professionally.
Expertise in DAWs
– Proficiency in
Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Reaper, Logic Pro, or similar software
.
Strong Ear for Detail
– Ability to
remove distractions, balance levels, and enhance vocal quality
.
Understanding of Audio Storytelling
– Can
shape conversations for better engagement and pacing
.
Fast Turnaround & Deadline-Driven
– Can handle
multiple projects while maintaining high quality
.
Basic Mixing & Mastering Skills
– Familiarity with
EQ, compression, noise reduction, and reverb
.
Familiarity with Podcast Hosting & Formatting
– Knowledge of
RSS feeds, loudness standards (-16 LUFS), and podcast distribution
is a plus.
Bonus:
Video Editing Skills
– Experience editing
video podcasts, reels, or audiograms
is a plus.
