Job Description & How to Apply Below

Company Description

The ATML Choir CIC is a community-focused choir created to combat loneliness and support mental well-being through music. The organization welcomes people from all backgrounds, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, or social class, and fosters a sense of belonging through inclusive musical experiences. Its signature style is the medley, blending multiple songs into one cohesive sound that symbolizes unity and connection.

Whether participants are experienced vocalists or casual “shower singers,” they are invited to join a supportive community that values every voice. The ATML Choir CIC believes that singing together, whether in the choir or the audience, can be a powerful antidote to isolation and a positive force for mental health.

Role Description

We are looking for a professioabl bid writer. This is a generously high commission based role calculated using KPIs. This role is based in Manchester, offered on a hybrid basis, with a mix of in-person collaboration and work from home. We welcome applications from suitable applicants within the North West Region.

  • Bid Writer will research funding opportunities, including grants, trusts, and sponsor ships, that align with the choir’s mission of tackling loneliness and supporting mental health through music.
  • Day-to-day tasks include drafting and tailoring bid proposals, gathering relevant organizational information, and preparing supporting documents and budgets in collaboration with the leadership team.
  • The role will also involve tracking deadlines, maintaining a pipeline of applications, and recording outcomes to improve future submissions.
  • The Bid Writer will work closely with the team to communicate the impact of the choir’s work and help secure sustainable funding for activities, events, and community outreach.
Qualifications
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to write clear, persuasive, and engaging funding proposals tailored to different funders.
  • Experience or interest in bid writing, fundraising, grant applications, or related roles in the charity, arts, or community sector.
  • Research and analytical skills to identify suitable funding opportunities and interpret funder guidelines and criteria.
  • Organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple deadlines, maintain accurate records, and work independently.
  • Comfort using standard digital tools (e.g., email, word processing, spreadsheets, online application portals) and willingness to learn new systems as needed.
  • Commitment to inclusion, community building, and improving mental health and wellbeing through creative and musical activities.
  • Previous experience in community projects, arts organizations, or social enterprises is beneficial but not essential.
  • Availability to attend occasional in-person meetings or events in Manchester, alongside remote work.

Successful Applicants will be invited to a two-stage interview from the week beginning 1st July 2026
