Publishing​/Assistant​/Development Editors

We are looking for Publishing, Assistant and Development Editors on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. These editors support a portfolio of RSC journals, engaging with authors, reviewers, and editorial boards to ensure high‑quality, timely publication and to grow the journals’ reach.

• Work across 4‑6 journal titles.
• Manage peer review, assess and select high‑quality articles.
• Invite world‑class authors and promote content with marketing.
• Support production (issue make‑up, themed collections) and rapid publishing.
• Represent RSC at conferences, maintain online presence, analyse data for strategic planning.
• Travel within the UK and Europe as required.

• Degree in science or relevant equivalent experience.
• Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills; able to work under pressure, prioritise and meet deadlines.
• Team player with initiative and problem‑solving skills.
• Attention to detail.

• Hybrid working – office in Cambridge; remote work within the UK with occasional office visits (≤ 1month).
