The Content Development Editor facilitates the editorial delivery and onboarding of an assigned list of books, enabling smooth delivery of manuscripts to Production, liaising with external editors and authors, as well as Emerald’s commissioning editors and colleagues.

Compensation: circa £30,000

Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing the delivery of a portfolio of books, supporting supplier Book Project Editors, managing manuscript receipt and entry, and ensuring process consistency. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proactive communication.

Our remote-first policy allows flexibility, with occasional face-to-face meetings in Leeds. We welcome diverse applicants and value skills and enthusiasm over perfect fit.

Responsibilities include managing book titles, supporting editors, overseeing manuscript processing, collaborating on cover design, and participating in process improvement projects. Qualifications include excellent organizational, communication, project management, and conflict resolution skills, with industry experience preferred.
