VFX Artist​/3D Animator AI Video Annotation

Apply your visual effects and 3D animation expertise to help create accurate training data for advanced AI systems. This remote contract role focuses on reviewing and annotating video of robotic arms completing real-world tasks, not on creating, animating, or rendering assets. Your understanding of motion, spatial relationships, object behavior, tracking, occlusion, and visual anomalies will help determine what occurs in each video segment and whether tasks are completed correctly.

• Review footage of robotic arms performing tasks according to detailed annotation and grading guidelines.
• Identify and label motion, object interactions, spatial changes, task outcomes, errors, and other relevant events.
• Use knowledge of animation, transforms, trajectories, timing, occlusion, and physical behavior to interpret activity accurately.
• Tag video content precisely and consistently using dedicated annotation tools.
• Flag visual anomalies, tracking difficulties, and ambiguous moments, with concise written explanations.
• Support quality control by reviewing annotations and providing constructive feedback when requested.
• Complete assigned batches accurately and by established deadlines.

• Professional or academic background in visual effects, 3D animation, motion graphics, technical art, computer graphics, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of motion, timing, spatial relationships, object tracking, occlusion, and visual continuity.
• Familiarity with Blender, Maya, Houdini, Cinema 4D, Nuke, After Effects, or comparable software.
• Excellent attention to detail, including the ability to detect subtle motion changes, visual artifacts, and inconsistencies.
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to clearly describe visual observations and edge cases.
• Experience with video annotation, visual QA, computer vision datasets, AI training projects, or robotics is helpful but not required.
• No prior experience in AI, robotics, or data annotation is required.

• Remote independent contractor engagement.
• Open to candidates located in North America, Latin America, Europe, the UK, and Oceania.
• Compensation $50 to $90 per hour.
