Shape music-focused editorial content remotely for SOCAN using strong writing, editing, and research skills across digital and print platforms.
This mid-senior Editorial Content Creator supports SOCAN’s website and Words & Music / Paroles & Musique magazine. You will coordinate content, edit communications, and manage assignments independently within established editorial plans. The work supports organizational priorities, industry engagement, and member communications.
Key Responsibilities:- Write editorial content about SOCAN initiatives, events, news, and music topics
- Coordinate and edit weekly SOCAN website feature stories
- Proofread member-facing and internal communications before publication
- Conduct interviews and research for features and event coverage
- Coordinate translations for timely bilingual publication across platforms
- Post-secondary degree in journalism, editorial writing, communications, or related field
- Minimum two years’ experience as a digital or online content editor
- Strong writing, editing, research, and communication skills
- Working knowledge of Word Press, Mailchimp, Microsoft Office, and social media
- Familiarity with content management systems
