A St. Joseph’s Indian School Mission Advocate is passionate about making a difference in the Native American
community by working at the Sioux Falls Mission Advocacy (call) Center. In this role, you will professionally handle
incoming and outbound donor service calls while showcasing your knowledge of Native American culture. You will be a
part of something meaningful — connecting hearts across phone lines and creating lasting impact. Individuals must
provide exceptional donor service and ensure accuracy in all aspects of the work. As you excel in your role and receive
proper training, you can earn a hybrid remote work schedule with office rotations. This position is non-exempt.

Reports to the Mission Advocate Supervisor

Core Responsibilities

Represents St. Joseph’s Indian School in a positive and professional manner at all times, treating donors with the utmost
respect – exceeding their expectations with every contact.

Responsibilities

1. Incoming Call Management:
Professionally handle incoming phone calls, addressing inquiries, processing donations
and providing assistance as required. You won’t just answer calls, you’ll create connections, weave stories and ignite
passion in St. Joseph’s mission.
2. Outbound Engagement:
You’ll have opportunities to spread joy by initiating outbound calls to express gratitude to
donors, extend birthday wishes, follow up on inquiries and solicit donations as appropriate.
3. Mission Communication:
When you speak, the mission comes alive. Effectively communicate the mission, programs
and events of St. Joseph’s Indian School, ensuring clarity and enthusiasm and escalating calls when necessary to
enhance donor engagement.
4. Donor Relationship Building:
Donors aren’t just numbers; they’re our partners. Adhere to high-performance
standards, treating donors with utmost respect, with a focus on fostering enduring and meaningful donor
relationships.
5. Team

Collaboration:

It’s not a one-man show around here. Actively participate in team meetings to review call
outcomes, gather donor feedback, discuss productivity goals and engage in individual quality assurance evaluations,
adapting strategies as needed.
6. Communication Protocol:
Utilize prescribed scripts and technologies to maintain consistency in communication
standards and accurately record donor contact details in customer service software.
7. Cultural Awareness:
Native American culture isn’t just a checkbox; it’s our heartbeat. Learning and maintaining a
foundational understanding of Native American culture and its integration into daily operations eph’s
Indian School will be essential.
8. Schedule Adherence:
Maintain punctuality by following posted schedule for arrival and breaks to ensure continuous
coverage and operational efficiency so our team can continue rolling like a well-oiled machine.
9. Other:
Performs other responsibilities as required by the Mission Advocate Supervisor.

Qualifications

As a Mission Advocate eph’s Indian School, you’ll blend empathy, precision and cultural understanding together
to weave lasting donor connections.

• High School graduate or equivalent.

• Provide top-notch customer service by communicating effectively with empathy, patience and high-level
listening when interacting with donors.

• Strong organizational and communication skills required. Must be able to multitask; maintaining verbal
communication quality standards while adhering to internal procedures using a computer and a variety of
computer applications.

• Can comfortably use both desktop and laptop computers and has proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Must be able to learn and demonstrate a general understanding of Native American culture and communicate
the mission of St. Joseph’s Indian School.

• Prior customer care experience or work with non-profit organizations is a bonus.

• Be a self-motivated team member and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.

• Basic typing skills required (35 wpm or more with high accuracy).

• Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check.

Physical Demands

• Uses both hands and wrists repetitively for prolonged periods.

Expectations of Hours Worked

Full-time Regular employees work 40 hours/week Monday through Friday 8 am – 5 pm
Part-time Regular employees work under 30 hour/week
