VCA Shoreline Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center is looking for a Veterinary Receptionist to join our team in Shelton, CT.

CSR Swing Shift

Schedule:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.

The position requires a person who is self‑motivated, organized, and able to work independently. The receptionist will greet clients, answer phones, direct calls, schedule appointments, maintain accurate records, and perform administrative tasks as needed.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two years of experience in a veterinary setting preferred.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to work from home on occasion.
• Must be comfortable working with animals (cats and dogs) and have experience handling pets of any size.
• Must be comfortable using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Customer service functions, including greeting visitors, answering telephones, and guiding clients and their pets to exam rooms.
• Scheduling and confirming appointments.
• Placing outbound calls for follow‑ups and reaching out to prospective clients.
• Presenting and explaining fees, including processing payments.
• Recommending, selecting, and obtaining products and services, including prescriptions.
• Answering questions regarding products and services.
• Managing medical records, charts, reports and correspondence.
• Hospital maintenance (including removal of animal waste) and ensuring that the facility is neat and clean at all times – both inside and outside.
