The Temporary Parks Special Events Assistant will provide support to the Parks Special Events program and outstanding customer service for Dakota County Parks, specifically in the areas of event planning and delivery.

Responsibilities include:

• Assist with planning, logistics, promotion, and implementation of special events.
• Coordinate event equipment rentals, pickup, and delivery.
• Provide administrative and programmatic support to marketing, awareness, and promotional efforts.
• Represent Dakota County Parks professionally at public events.
• Work on-site during events, especially during evenings, weekends, and holiday hours.
• Travel within Dakota County for community events and occasional remote work.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills with diverse audiences.
• Customer‑service oriented and flexible to shift work.
• Self‑motivated with enthusiasm for outdoor and community engagement.
• Ability to work well with others in fast‑paced environments.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows applications.
• Physical ability to staff outdoor events, lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
