This remote position can be located anywhere where posted. We are an inbound contact center helping utility customers save money, make their homes more energy efficient, and improve our climate through change.
The role is not a typical call‑center job. You will handle a wide variety of customer interactions, each focused around energy efficiency. You’ll support multiple programs using multiple platforms, offering customer service, visit scheduling, enrollment, education, tech support, online support, and status updates. Each call may involve a different utility customer and require a different service. The scripts vary: verbatim, talking points, or simple usage guides.
Some programs also include chat or email interactions.
- Handle inbound or outbound voice calls
- Navigate programs and scripts accurately
- Provide support for customer and technology inquiries
- Maintain a committed schedule with set lunches and breaks
- Track and appreciate goals and performance metrics
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Ability to type 35+ WPM
- Excellent attendance and punctuality record
- Capable of thriving in an intensive environment, juggling customer support while navigating multiple platforms simultaneously
- Minimum 6 months of previous experience within a customer‑facing environment (call‑center inbound/outbound sales preferred)
- Sales‑oriented with a focus on customer service satisfaction
- “How can I help you?” attitude
- Company provides laptop, software, and all necessary equipment
- Home Internet:
Minimum 10 Mbps upload, 20 Mbps download, 99 % latency. Must be able to hardwire internet and plug directly into router. - Dedicated home office space free of personal disruptions
- Two power connections
- You must be on the phone throughout the entirety of your shift – no flexibility to answer the door or provide on‑call care during scheduled work hours
$17 per hour plus a $65 per month internet stipend.
Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, and certain degrees and certifications (e.g. JD/technology).
