PT Dispatcher

Seeking a reliable dispatcher to help create trucking routes that keep costs down but meet the customers' scheduling needs. The dispatcher will be the primary interface between the company, customers, sales, system operations, and vendors, providing quality customer service while adhering to company policies and procedures.

This role is perfect for anyone interested in gaining quick experience in supply chain management. Candidates must be dependable and hardworking, with the ability to communicate clearly and maintain excellent customer service.

Schedule: Part-time, 20-30 hours per week.

Work Environment: Hybrid but primarily work from home.

Experience: Needs experience in Ocean Freight / intermodal. 1 year of Port Pro experience is not required but is a bonus.

Job Duties:

• Answer phones professionally and timely.
• Respond to email requests professionally and promptly.
• Provide general customer service.
• Research shipments for Corporate/Accounting requests/reports.
• Communicate charges with accounting when outside vendors are used.
• Understand TSA regulations.
• Develop pickup/delivery routes and maintain contact with drivers throughout the day.
• Modify daily routes to accommodate the needs of customers.
• Act as a communication liaison between customers, drivers, sales, and company facilities.
• Cultivate strong relationships with drivers and customers.
• Schedule residential pickups.
• Able to work overtime and be on weekend on-call rotations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Cartage Supervisor.

Requirements:

• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a PLUS!
• Must have dispatch experience and be familiar with the SoCal area.
• Must be a multitasker, as there are heavy call, email, and workload volumes.
• Must be flexible with scheduling and available for overtime.
• Good customer service skills are essential.
