Position: Sales Support/ Customer Service - Hybrid/ Remote

This position may be remote or hybrid - those living within a 1 hour commute will be asked to come to the Berkshire Office 2 - 3 days per week.

General

Purpose:

Provide support to Sales team/ Account Managers by serving as the liaison to all parties involved in the customer order fulfillment process, from order placement to final delivery of product. This position entails communication with Sales, customers, suppliers, plants, and warehouses, as well as internal team members. Demonstrate a positive attitude and the willingness to assist where needed in order to best serve the customer.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Process customer purchase orders with customer requirements in mind
  • Source and purchase product (if applicable), confirm availability, enter purchase orders and sales orders, and coordinate with all parties involved in the release and delivery of product
  • Monitor purchase opportunities in Sales Force or offers in SharePoint for progression, and follow up if approvals aren't recorded in a timely manner
  • Manage purchase contracts, ordering product according to the terms of the purchase, and oversee that adequate inventory is maintained for customer orders
  • Respond to customer inquiries such as document requests, complaints, return orders, test result questions, discrepancies, damages, new product approval, sample requests, delivery status of orders, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with corporate credit department to resolve issues regarding credit holds, short payments, etc.; verify credit status before processing orders, generate Proforma invoices if necessary, and run open balance reports
  • Communicate with suppliers and customers when product is not available to determine the nature of the delay, when product will become available, if an alternate source is acceptable, or to shift orders around with other customers
  • Provide back-up to others in the office while they are out to ensure a seamless experience for the customer
  • Dedicate effort to safety as we expect every employee to leave work in the same condition as they arrive

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years Customer Service experience supporting sales and accounts
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems, specifically SAP
  • Skill in proficient computer usage
