If this is for you, we will first offer you a training. In it, professionals help you to further develop your listening and conversation skills. Even after the training, we will continue to guide and support you professionally and keep you in touch with a close team of volunteers.

Anne has been a volunteer with the Luisterlijn for five years. “I had a lot of time after my retirement, so I decided to register with the Luisterlijn. The conversations are sometimes very intensive; people often call to talk about loneliness, psychological problems or difficult relationships. But what you get in return is priceless: you were able to help someone, just by listening.

The listening line

The 1,500 volunteers from the Luisterlijn offer anonymous remote support throughout the country. Day and night. Via telephone, chat and e-mail. From home or from one of the 28 locations. Every year we receive almost half a million calls. The need for an anonymous listening ear is greater than ever.

In the middle of the night, in the early morning or on a public holiday. The Luisterlijn is available day and night, all year round, for people who need a confidential conversation. By mail, every day of the week by chat and 24/7 by phone. Thanks to more than 1500 volunteers who receive training and guidance from expert professionals.
