Customer Care Team Member

Pay Rate: £13.85 per hour
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm (40 hours per week)
Hybrid Working:
Up to 2 days working from home after successful completion of probation
Smart Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Customer Care Team Member to join their growing team in Bolton.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong customer service and administration skills who enjoys solving problems, building relationships and delivering exceptional service. You'll be joining a supportive team within a growing business that offers long‑term career opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Handle inbound calls and emails professionally, ensuring all customer enquiries are resolved promptly.
- Process customer requests, service changes and enquiries accurately and efficiently.
- Create, update and maintain customer records, service agreements and job information within company systems.
- Coordinate collections and service requests with the Operations and Transport teams.
- Keep customers informed of service updates, collection schedules and any delays.
- Arrange and manage subcontracted services, ensuring all information is accurately recorded.
- Monitor customer, logistics and subcontractor data, maintaining high levels of accuracy.
- Build positive relationships with customers, suppliers and internal departments.
- Work closely with the Sales team by sharing customer feedback and identifying opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and retention.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure customer information is handled in line with company procedures.
- Support colleagues during busy periods, including assisting the Weighbridge and Transport teams when required.
- Contribute ideas to improve customer service and internal processes.
- Previous experience in a customer service or administration role.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Confident telephone manner with a professional and friendly approach.
- Strong IT skills and experience using customer service or CRM systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks.
- A proactive problem solver who takes ownership of customer queries through to resolution.
- Experience with in the waste or recycling industry would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
