At Chane Terminals, everything revolves around connection—between products and markets, between operations and commerce, and above all, between people.

Our Customer Service team in Rotterdam is growing. From this location, we support eight terminals and work together to further professionalize and enhance customer focus across Chane.

We are expanding, continuing to professionalize, and working on exciting initiatives such as our customer excellence program and the harmonization of our ERP systems. You will join a team of 6 colleagues, led by a coordinator. The team is experienced, self-sufficient, and well-established. At the same time, we are continuously developing. We work largely digitally, although not everything is set up optimally yet. This means there is room to improve, work more efficiently, and further professionalize our processes.

Customer Service is at the heart of the organization. On a daily basis, you will interact with Planning, Operations, Sales, QHSE, and Finance. As the terminal operates continuously, you will be on call together with a colleague once a month. You will, of course, receive an on-call allowance for this. Any overtime is either compensated financially or in time off, by mutual agreement.

We work a maximum of 40 hours per week and offer one fixed working-from-home day.

As a Customer Service Representative, you are the first point of contact for your customers. You ensure accurate administrative and operational handling of orders, nominations, and reporting. But your role goes beyond that.

You will:

• translate customer agreements into clear internal actions
• monitor progress and keep stakeholders informed of developments
• provide nuance where needed and confidently engage in discussions
• contribute to improvements within the customer excellence program
• provide input for the harmonization of ERP systems

We are looking for someone who is not afraid to build connections between internal and external stakeholders. Someone who understands that customer focus goes beyond responding quickly—it’s about listening, anticipating needs, and working together to achieve solutions.

You are a strong communicator who knows how to engage and influence others. You have a keen sense of when to adapt, when to take decisive action, and when to align with others. You are proactive and take ownership.

In addition, you bring:

• a bachelor’s level of working and thinking (HBO level)
• a background in logistics, preferably in port logistics
• experience with tank storage is an advantage
• at least a few years of experience in customer service within logistics or industry
• good command of both Dutch and English
• strong digital skills and affinity with ERP systems

We are open to both junior and medior candidates. Ideally, we are looking to strengthen the team with someone who already brings some experience, in order to maintain a good balance within the team.
