Job Overview
Our client is looking for a dedicated Travel Operations Specialist to support a dynamic team that coordinates large-scale group tours and individual travel bookings. This role puts you at the center of the client’s operations, where your attention to detail and technical expertise will directly impact successful travel experiences for hundreds of clients.
Client OverviewThe client is an established Australian travel agency specializing in escorted group tours with a strong focus on the US market, which represents approximately 70% of their business. They operate retail locations and maintain a thriving groups division serving sporting organizations and tour groups across North America, with expertise in national parks, the Rockies, and Alaska destinations.
ScheduleMonday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM AEST, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 work hours per week)
Responsibilities- Book and issue flight reservations with zero-error accuracy using Sabre GDS
- Prepare detailed airfare quotes and manage ticketing processes
- Plan and quote comprehensive travel itineraries for group and individual clients
- Load trip details and itineraries into Travify system
- Enter and maintain all costing information in Tramada system
- Collaborate with multiple team members across the agency to support their booking needs
- Manage administrative tasks related to travel documentation and confirmations
- Respond to booking changes and updates with quick turnaround times
- Sabre GDS certification and hands-on booking experience (non-negotiable)
- Proven experience booking and issuing international flights, particularly to US destinations
- Strong background in travel agency operations or tour coordination
- Comfortable using multiple travel management systems simultaneously
- High attention to detail with zero-tolerance mindset for booking errors
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bonus if you have experience with Tramada booking system
- It helps if you've worked with group travel or escorted tour bookings
- Experience supporting remote teams across different locations is valued
- Familiarity with US travel destinations, particularly national parks and Alaska
